that is a beautiful canvasback.
We hunt in Central CA through the end of January, so a few more weeks. Heading up to our club tomorrow to shoot over the weekend.
I'd be pleased to get a canvasback! We shoot a lot of GWT, ringed necks, wigeon, pintail (but just one per hunt!), and some cinnamon teal, redheads and mallards. We try to lay off the spooneys and mergansers!
Sounds like you have a good place to hunt. Ours is all public lands. Our majority are mallards and gadwalls. Getting more GWT every year. If they werenโt so small would rather eat/smoke them than any others. Some days that is our limits - GWT.
We grind up the spoonies and mergansers for dog feed.
