Most of my clients are 70+. I've had a few that get those calls. Many of them have plenty of money they have worked hard for or made via good investments. I try to get them to understand that you never send money to someone to get money. In one case, the calls kept coming everyday. I finally got on the phone and told them I was with the fraud division of the FBI and we had traced the call. That ended things very quickly.

I vote for his slow and painful demise. Time to send a message to all these derelicts.

I ask for their name, cell phone number and address so I can so I can pick up the check minus taxes. Ends call.

I always wondered why and business would give anyone that kind of money. Is there that much money in it to freely give even 100k just because? Someone just did this to me on messenger they somehow hijacked an account i knew and said they won 200k and my name was on the list i told them great you take care of it for me i’ll take just 10% they said sure never heard again, but don’t know how they took someone acct and the real person didn’t know

I could never understand why we put a guy who robs a 7/11 in jail for 10 years and theses guys go free cause it takes law to much time like the rich people who do the ponzu schemes or real estate schemes they go free these people should be treated like the mob used to do knee cap them it’s just the worse I’m elderly and get theses calls all the time would just like to use a baseball bat on them

Friend of mine similar deal they wanted western union
He got their info and they called back later saying no money
Said he would try again, they called back still no money and he would try again.
He stayed home all day but had fun sending them on wild goose chases

I have a similar story. For two days I strung them along, after the 5th time he went to the Western Union, I told him I could send through Walmart. Told him that I would give them a password so they would know it was for him. Told him to say Shake and Bake three times real fast and they would give him the money. He later called back and cussed me out for wasting his time.

My wife almost lost $1000 on an antivirus deal on her computer. She gave the guy her debit card # over the phone he ran the card for $1500 and told her he made a mistake. He didn't want her cancel the purchase. He talked her into going to Best Buy and buying 2 $500 gift cards which she did. I overheard her side of this she was going to scratch off the back of the card and give the # to him. I told her don't do that as she wasnt getting money back she would be paying him an additional $1000. I got her to call the bank and stop payment. She did and the bank changed her account #s. I put the 2 $500 gift cards in my wallet. Someday I'll surprise her by giving them back to her. She's very gullible when she talks to someone on the phone. She got the $1500 back thru the bank.

Goodness! It's always frustrating (stomach turning) when I hear these types of things as I constantly do business over the phone which requires a degree of trust and it creates more challenges in my industry for us folks who are trying to do the right thing and help people given their current need and situation. At the same time, good move dbed! Making sure you and/or family weren't being taken advantage of.

I understand your situation But I have quit buying from any telephone offers because of the scammers its just easer to just hang up then check then out

From what authorities told me most of them are from places like Iran and it is almost impossible to bust them ! Guess we all need to be extra careful in this modern world . A lot of dirt bags that take advantage of hardworking good people ..
