Just got back from fishing the lower part of Lake Mohave for two days. Man it was tough. Freezing cold, rainy and one bite. Tried everything too. Artificials, anchovies, mackerel, trolling...... nada 🙁. Can't wait to go back and try again.

Rattlesnake hunting might be more successful.

I grew up in Mojave Desert. Is Mead the old name for it? We used to go to Havasu to Cat tail Cove. In 80s

Well, that's a good attitude, at least... I heard many years ago: "Ya ain't gonna catch no fish, if ya ain't got any hooks in the water!"

I think it's in between Mead and Havasu Jer.

Actually Powell leads into Mead which leads into Mohave which leads into Havasu. Overall about 3000 miles of coastline with water full of striped, largemouth, small mouth, catfish, pike, walleye, trout, panfish and beers. Love it.

MJ, if Mohave was cold 🥶 do not come to Wyoming. It was a beautiful 2 degrees this morning and a nice 30mph wind to take the chill away.just beautiful.🤗 It didn't rain, but we were blessed with a couple inches of ❄️ snow. I love Wyoming.

Heck with fighting that, I would rather go ice fishing in a ice shelter and heater. I live in Logandale so understand your local pain and weather.
Keep in touch, when weather gets warm I will be asking tips you may have regarding lake Mead. I fish there at times but tired of Stripers smaller size. I end up going into UT or ID more in summer to get some Walleye.
Thx
Mark

Mohave strippers aren't too bad. They get bigger than this but are more prevalent in the summer.
