The Major Craft is made in Japan for Japanese anglers who are dead serious about this ultralite "finesse" stuff. They only became available in the US a year or so ago. I did a little research because I was having trouble finding an ultralite casting rod. For less than 400 bucks or so.

Is Major Craft stocked anywhere or is in online buying only? Checked the majors around me. Trying to avoid online. I’d like to get to a feel if them first.

You are welcome.
Like I said. Lot of time and money invested.
I am stupid anal about my fishing gear
I have 23 in my arsenal from ultralite to pounder musky.
Several other serviceable outfits that are misfits and I’ve given away a ton that for whatever reason didn’t make the cut. A few just because I didn’t like the color. And a bunch because they weren’t Left handed shimano , loomis or st croix.
Good luck with your rod selection. I’m sure you will love that aldebaran.

It's just my humble non professional opinion that those Japanese folks can be downright serious about fishing.

I dont know if this is even a thing anymore, with all the money available for specific weight rods and reels....BUT once upon a time, in order to "balance" out an outfit, you could add weight, via steel or lead washers, to the butt end of the rod below the reel seat of course, and that could or would give the user that certain feeling of balance then....according to ones taste.

I generally get my online fishing gear from Amazon. Anything you don't like you can send it back no questions asked and no charge for shipping.
