Hey fishing pals, I’m a 62-year-old tax accountant that looks 50 and acts 40. I work hard during the tax season but love to get out during the off season. Will he buying a boat this spring and will probably mainly use it at Lake Mead, Lake Mojave and the Laughlin area. Just looking for some pointers or advice, since I’ve never fished these waters before, as I was a native Californian up until 7 years ago. Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks and good luck out there folks !!

Good for you. You must eat well and stay busy. That’s what I do. “A body in motion” kinda guy. I’m 65 and people tell me I look 50ish. I have high school buddies ( the ones that haven’t died of natural causes) who look like my grandparents would. Sorry I can’t give you any advice in your area but you will get out there and figure it out quick. Good luck.

Just left Las Vegas after 30+ years, to retire in the Ozarks. Lake Mead is a tough one because there's nothing but rock structure. Look for drop-offs. Get involved in one of the zillions of fishing organizations. Be very careful with the boat - Lake Meade is over 150' shy of what its real water depth should be, so a lot of underwater rocks aren't marked. I was a trout fisherman when I was there & would go to 1 of many Trout lakes/ponds (all relative) or streams. The problem there is most are 3.5-4 hours away. Good luck.
