My damm furnace broke yesterday and it's getting quite cold in here, had a guy look at it and they're so busy they cant do nothing till Monday, the space heaters are just enough to take the chill out of the living room but i hate leaving them on all day, i knew this thing was gonna go soon good thing we had some $ stashed away
If I were closer, I'd be glad to help out... I spend most days restoring them from the dead!

Thanks for your kind thoughts Doug but it's a 27 yr. old Coleman hard to get parts for, i'm just replacing it, got a great deal from a friend just paying for labor
Damn that’s a tough break Lee
We had to replace ours last year.
Coulda happened in February when it’s real cold.
Good luck

¿What kind of stove/ oven do you have? ... I'm "cooking with gas"; but, STILL, I fire that rascal up/ a couple of windows "cracked open", to allow the carbon monoxide to vent... I've got steam heat here y live in a century old apartment building... The steam doesn't seem to be reaching ME, here, today. It's ~44° out there, right now but the "house" is 1/2-way comfortable. (There's also an "in-the-wall electric heater" in the bathroom here, which I have cranked to the max.) ... They have trouble every year, with the proper bleeding of this ancient system!

I tried the oven but with the door open it beeps all the time and that didn't work, the space heater keeps it above 63* and with hvy. socks and a fleece we'll be ok till Monday as long as the outside temps don't drop too low and that don't look like it's going to happen till Mon. or Tues

Yeah, I "feel for you", Lee; I've been through this "no heat b.s." a little more than I wish I had. Ain't died from hypothermia YET... Hope you manage to get all that "tightened up", soon.

Really sorry to hear that Lee. Glad you don’t have to wait for weeks to get parts and good on you for saving up $.
We had a coleman when house was new. Coleman was a good company for furnaces until they changed hands and quality went away. Amana we have now is very goood.

Time to plug the TV into an extension cord and place it on the hood of the truck. Hop in the truck and remember those drive days.
Oh yea open the garage doors.

Lee, even with the oven door closed, I am "baking some non-existent potatoes" (just "running an MT oven") y that is seeming to make a difference in here.

It hasn't got to that point yet the space heater is doing it's job well but we will loose some stored heat when the temps go down in the 30s tonight
