Yep! It certainly is a Dalton Special. The originator Perry Dalton developed the lure for Bass fishermen in Florida. It became so popular that he made an arrangement with Shakespeare to produce the lure and retain the name. Later after a disagreement he switched over to Florida Fishing Tackle that sold it under their Barracuda Brand of lures.

When I was about 12-13 years old (now 77) my father had taken me to Lake George in Florida. The first day I made a cast with a frog colored Dalton Special that went over a snag and hung about six inches above the water. A moment later came an explosion of water as a 51/2 pound bass leaped to engulf the plug. After many years of outdoor adventure, hunting, fishing and one war, I have never forgoten the Dalton Special.

If you want one for your tackle box they are fairly common and you can find one or more for sale on EBay.
