Finely got to take the boat for a test run. Weather was good and the water was flat. Ran at a cruising speed for an hour as recommended. After that tested the prop pitch running wide open. All checked out good. Top RPM was 5900 and speed was 45 to 46 MPH. Ready for a fishing trip now.

¡Glad to "hear that", Gordon! ... 45-46 MPH is really "making good time", I'd say! (Be careful/ that "Hotrod"!)

I never run wide open. Had to to make sure I had the right pitch props. Look at the gauge where it says 46 mph. Below that if you blow it up it says 31.0 GPH ( gallons per hour). Can't afford that.

Blow it UP? I understand now ( the picture). I was like HUH. Fresh looking motors blown up is not good. Average fuel at that speed is 31 Gallons burned in 60 minutes. About a quart per motor per minute. You can get 20+ miles in a 1/2 hour with 15 gallons or so. At Sea that is not bad. I haven't found much about boating that doesn't sometimes cost more than wanted for sure. Twins are good in case anything ever happens to one. You can get back home usually.

Did look like that. I dont want to blow them up. My normal cruising speed is about 28 to 32. Chrcked that out and it is 12 GPH. Much better.
