A pic of my son’s gsp with a Pa. grouse. My grandfather said you only get one really great dog in your lifetime but I sure hope he was wrong for my son’s sake. He’s only 32 and has a lot of years left

Great looking Grouse Woods. Nice looking hunting Dog as well! And just so those that don’t know, not all shock collars have to shock. Most now have training noises and vibration options so the dog knows when he’s going too far out and can be used to turn right or left without ever Havin to use the shock option.

Wow! I never knew they were able to do that. When my dad trained bird dogs to hunt quail, we only had a whistle and hand signals. Great improvement. Just Sayin...RJS

Not a shock collar. One was used to initially train him but didn’t take long for him to acclimate. As Ruffplay stated he now simply uses subtle vibrations to direct his dog. No shocking once properly trained. Hope I didn’t offend anyone

One of my favorite dogs (named ranger) when he put his nose down it didn't come up till he flushed it. sometimes, when we were done, his nose would be shredded. Pheasant hunting one year, we got out of the truck and he immediately went on point at this tiny bush, I told him to come and he moved over to me and went back on point. I looked at the little bush and saw nothing but he wouldn't budge. I reached in with my hand to show him that whatever was there had gone......... and put my hand down on a baby quail smaller than a tennis ball, great great dog. Had another good one with and Irish setter (Silky) she always looked back to see where I was.

A fine-looking grouse, dog, woods, and gun. If it makes you feel any better I have had two super coon hounds and one really good black lab for ducks. But, I probably had 80 coon hounds that couldn't quite do it and 25 labs that left a little to be desired. I trained all of the dogs myself.

Thanks for the encouragement flyguy, he’s on hold for getting a Brittany pup in the next year or so. I had a pair when I was a kid and now that I’m retired can assist training with my son.

Hey RJS. If you think the latest dog collars are cool you should see the Xmas sale on Collars for spouses. The technology is really great. When your wife has new remote....you better get out and go fishing. :)

When you put that collar on they become an entirely different dog. When I get the collar out my lab comes and sits done waiting to put it on because she knows we’re headed out.
