I have been satisfied with bluegill fishing for a couple weeks. Bass not hitting. Baitfish everywhere so maybe just not interested in artificial bait.

Pulled out the famous Hula Popper. Tossed it into some cover, fallen tree that snags me all the time. The water exploded. It was twilight and all I could see is the flash of the white underside of the 3lb large mouth bass as it splashed back into the water. It knew the territory and went down into the cover. Finally surfaced and raced to open water taking a couple seconds of 10lb line off the reel. Turned it around and kept it from getting back into the cover. One more tail wagging jump before landing the bass in the dark.

Picture with and without flash. One fish. Drop the mic. The skunk is dead.

I should have gone today - perfect, little drizzle, about 55 degrees and no wind. Who knew? Hey we finally got a little precip. The draught's over, can the skunk be next?

Nice Bass Jwid, glad you drowned the little stinker. I'm heading to the Smallmouth lake tomorrow and try and drown mine.

Sprit, you and I are the main ones still living with a skunk. We gotta get rid of our skunks sooner or later ...preferably sooner!

That’s two for the hula popper. Dig it out, tie it on, kill a skunk.
