GEB Loc: Northeast Oklahoma

Hi, I'm a northeast Oklahoma fisherman and enjoy catching Crappie, Catfish, White Bass, Stripers and Fly Fishing for Sunfish and Largemouth Bass.
Have fished Grand Lake, OK since the early '60s when heated docks were popular.
My favorite fishing is for Crappie in the winter and I tye my own jigs for fun.
I really enjoy this site.

¡Welcome, GEB! ... ¿Do you ever get yourself as far as Eufaula Lake, to "wet a hook? (I've got a friend, who'd moved into that neck'o the woods, years ago.)

Howdy from Notthern, CA (yes it is state but we keep it hush hush). I had a great and crazy drinking buddy from OK during my Army years. Enjoy the stage.

welcome to the forum GEB. I don't fish Grand much but usually hit it a few times in the winter looking for crappie. I fish lake Eucha just south of Jay. Great lake for bluegill. I fish Ft Gibson lake regularly in the winter for crappie & bluegill plus I jug line it for blue's & flathead. I live just minutes from lake Tenkiller & fish it for both large & smallmouth bass & catfish. Lots of white bass in Tenkiller & they fight good. Glad to have another Okie on the forum. Tight lines.

Greetings and welcome. I am in OKC. I usually fish the City Lakes here plus Ft Cobb & Konawa. I’ve fished the lakes in your area a bit with Guide Rocky Thomas. I’ll be cleaning up storm damage for a while!!

You guys had some terrible ice this past weekend. Those northern boys get snow & the lakes freeze but I don't think they get the ice storms we do. My family is only south of you 60 miles, they live north of lawton. They had the worse damage ever. My brother has a pecan tree in his front yard that was over 4 feet across the trunk & now over half of the tree is on the ground. My mother's neighbor had a large elm fall completely across her roof from south to north. The walls are even caved in. A lot of the extra weight was because there has been no frost & the trees were still leafed out. My brother's pecan tree was loaded with pecans. You folks have a mess for sure. We had rain for 4 days & the lakes are muddy & water levels are rising but i'm
going to try tomorrow for whatever I can find on the locator. I'll have to fish the south end of the lake because the rising water from the Illinois River can carry logs & debris that i don't want to tangle with. Hope you get your mess cleaned up & get back on the water. Take care & tight lines.
