"Best Day Ever"

Read a few topics when I can. Rarely post. But I had to share this one and hope it stimulates a few good stories from you guys. This was inspired by my five year old grandson.
Got to take my grandson fishing on the bay for the first time. Light breeze, mostly sunny and mild; basically perfect. On the way out I asked him how many fish he wanted to catch? He replied, "If I catch 28 fish I'm going to explode!" We caught the bay: redfish, trout, sheephead, flounder, and the proverbial hardhead. On the way home I asked him if he had any fun? "Best day ever", smiling ear-to-ear. Reminds me how grateful I am that every once in a while the good Lord smiles on us fishermen and we get to catch a lot more than fish.

That’s very special! My dad was a huge hunter but never fished. My “Pappy” introduced me to the sport when I was about your grandson’s age. Those outings are the fondest memories of my childhood. You’ve created the same for your grandson!

That cute Lil fellas face says it all. Proud grampa that day I'm sure. I would blow that picture up and frame it. Just so you and him can talk about it for ever.lol good job Grampa.

Just an awesome day! Agree with Egg on this about blowing up the picture. I still talk to my son about a fish he caught some 45 years ago.

Love it. I especially love the way you’ve got him prepared for fishing. Deck shoes, long sleeve sun shirt, floppy hat. Nice mess of fish and good looking bay boat. Where are you fishing if you don’t mind me asking?
