Twas a beautiful day in the neighborhood. Went out to check out the last larger pond I hadn't fished in Delaware state parks

First cast put a nice little bluegill on the bank. Oops, wrong fish. The second one was a little crappiewhich obviously is the second shot. Proceeded to go through some worms and caught 4 more nice gills. Moved to the other side of the lake to check it out and found a small slot in the trees and brush along the shore and pulled about 20 handsize gills out in about an hour. All totaled a great day of catching, for a change.

Pretty looking Pond, and with a little Fall color on the banks. Sounds like a great fall day fishing. Thanks for the pics, I havenโ€™t caught a gill in so long I donโ€™t even remember.

Just beautiful Fly. I need a gorgeous pond like that around here. Congrats on your fishing trip.

Nice! what pond was this? I assume we are in the same area. What were you using?

I went down to Killens pond to check it out. I'm just coming back to fresh water from surf fishing for a lot of years. All I did was throw a piece of nightcrawler on a #6 circle hooks under a bobber into the water and bring in the fish. Yep we've got to be close if we're both in Wilmington. Send a pm if you'd like. Thats ok. I haven't caught any trout or salmon either.๐Ÿ˜„๐Ÿ˜„๐Ÿ˜„ . The biggest problem for me right now is lack of fishable bank. Need a boat. Gotta find me a smallish john boat. Got 2 12 yo grands that love to fish with me.

Yeah FT,a 12ft jonboat was my first, all mine, boat. Great in smaller waters, not so hot in bigger, busier lakes. Didn't stop me though (young and stupid) LOL. Here's my little Fisher 12, with its 1st motor, firebreathing 7.5 Firestone. Later replaced by a 7.5 Merc.

Otsego some nice lily pad areas, probably some grass beds icould find somewhere, some deeper water. Found three other lakes/reservoirs over the border in Pennsylvania . The last one I looked at had a nice little bait shop. Spent some time with the owner. Said the lake had pike, lmb,,smb three kinds of cats and five kinds of sunnies. All these lakes are limited to either 9.5 or electric. I've had a 20 foot Welcaft with a 140. I've run it 12 miles out. Got rid of it after twenty years because I spent so much time fishing the beach. I don't need a 200 hp bass boat. I just need to get to the lily pads without using a machete to get thru the Greenbriar. With the grands or my favorite(only) brother.๐Ÿ˜€
