I’ve been reading posts on here for a couple months & decided to introduce myself.
I’m semi-retired, born in NW Ohio & fishing Lake Erie for over 60 years.
Trolling, drifting, perch jerking & some bass fishing.
Currently living in Dayton, but have not had much luck fishing near home.
I’m encouraged by the posts about some local crappie fishing in the Dayton area especially since I’ll be winterizing my lake boat soon and be staying close to home. Any advice would be appreciated.
Catching my first Muskie is on my buckle list.
I look forward to sharing tips & stories.
Tight lines!

Welcome to the stage Capt Wes, sorry I can't help you out in Ohio, but Good Luck.
Welcome Wes.
I am from Dayton as well
Crappie in caesars are deep. 38-40 ft yesterday.
Bite is slow. Try drop shot with live minnow. That should take a few.
Get a map and find humps and points.
Saugeye are hit and miss. If we get wind , fish wind blown banks with crankbaits and 4 inch Keitech on a jig head.
Also deep jigging humps and points produces. Be ready for short fish.
Can’t say much about musky. Been too busy with work.
WvMike is the closest muskie expert to you probably. He's pretty ho hum about em - yeah, I caught another one, not too big though. As it's eating his face and arm. Welcome to the stage capt wes. What is semi-retired? Is you is or is you ain't? Photos, captain - we love photos on here, especially musky photos.

Welcome Capt Wes, I'm from Beavercreek, and you've got some choices in the surrounding area. Depends if you're boat or bank fishing during the fall and winter. Till the water gets hard, you can fish Caesars Creek, Cowen lake(10 H.P.limit) Rocky Fork, Paint Creek, Grand lake St. Marys, C.J. Brown resevoir or Indian Lake. Most of these lakes have spillway fishing all winter long also. You can reach all of them in less than 2 hrs. Caesars Creek has a good Musky population if you have your heart set on it. There are a ton of guys and gals on here with good tips, and some great stories that I'm not sure are true or not. LOL Take care and I'll see ya on the water.

Welcome, Capt. Wes! Unfortunately, I have no real information, regarding any fishing in your neck o' the woods, down there. There's BOUND 2B some GOOD spots. Yeah, W VA Mike, might be able to point you at some Muskies.
