Knot called double polomar won’t slip when tying braid to lure. Instead of single pass to make first over hand knot, pass it thru a second time.
Never had issue with this knot.
FG or Alberto for braid to fluoro. Double uni works well too .
Using light braid to a treble hook lure used to give me fits by fouling in the hooks on the cast. The tumbling lure always ends up catching the braid And fouls your cast
I Greatly reduced this by using a stiff fluoro leader. Made out of Dedicated leader material . P line is pretty stiff as well.

Lures to 30# Power Pro. Watch for line twist. If catching a fish every few cast - line twist is reduced.

Yes you can tie braid direct to your lure, most all braid brands recommend using the Polamar knot. That’s the knot I use and I never had any issues, tight lines.

I got Daiwa casting reel with 30 lb braid. Casts like a dream. That being said, can I tie lures directly to my line or is a flouro leader necessary? I like to use chatterbaits, jigs, Texas Rigs etc. I fish for largemouth usually.

I put 2 1/2 to 3 ft of FC for leader if I’m fishing for anything In clearer water. I use a double Uni for that and it still casts good and works well. Just try to match line diameter, or just a bit smaller for the leader.

I often use straight braid for my topwater baits, using the
Rapala loop knot. It never breaks and allows the lure to have maximum action.

In murky/stained water I use braid and clips (no snap swivels) and lures/jigs/crankbaits.

Clear water get leaders (mono or floro) tied with an albright knot. I like using an albright knot over a double uni knot because the abright is smaller in length/goes thru the eyes better.

I use a leader of mono or fluorocarbon routinely, though I have tied lures directly to braid. I have a question, though. Why use a 10 or 15 lb. test leader with 50 lb. braid? Why not use braid just a little stronger than the leader, say 20 lb. test? Don't you lose all advantages of a heavy line if you use a leader that is a lot weaker?
