I got Daiwa casting reel with 30 lb braid. Casts like a dream. That being said, can I tie lures directly to my line or is a flouro leader necessary? I like to use chatterbaits, jigs, Texas Rigs etc. I fish for largemouth usually.

(not for bass but for my inshore rods) I go with an FG knot to a few feet of Fluoro to a power clip. Saves me from cutting into the leader when retying. lb of fluoro is lighter than the braid so I know that's where a breaking point would be in case of snag.

of course you can. Double SD or palomar for the knot

Yes you can. Isn't an issue if the water is murky and the fish are skittish.

You may certainly do that, I never do it though, braid to FC to lure. Check out the Wired2fish for the knots to use.

I don't on jigs or topwater like buzzbaits, frogs, whopper ploppers etc. You may want to for chatterbaits crankbaits or worm fishing, especially in clear water. Just double uni a few feet of floro, in a lower lb test.

All the above are good suggestions. Yes, you certainly can tie directly on to a lure with braid. However, if you get hung up it will very hard to break your 50 lb braid. So, if no other reason than being able to break off in case of a solid hang up, you can tie on a leader of Fluro or Mono of say 10 to 15 lb leader. Go to one of the suggestions above or Youtube on how to tie different types of knots. You need to learn these knots anyway! Just Sayin....RJS

I’ve done both fc leader good for invisibility only time I’ve had an issue with tying direct to braid tho is with aggressive jigging 3+ oz jigs. The braid is too limber and wraps up on the jig the stiffer mono wasn’t as prone to that

Do it all the time with Calista lures for halibut fishing in So Ca. Sandy bottom. Floro leader a must if structure as said above.

I usually tie in a 4 to 20 foot leader depending on the rod. I use an Alberto knit since it goes through the guides so well

I don’t but you can ! If you go the leader route uni knot is very easy to tie and fine for freshwater use !
Some use lighter leaders but with fluoro you can go heavier and not hurt the presentation
Top water I’d use mono leaders !

I don’t find my lure directly to the line anymore. I found that after a few hours of casting without a swivel my line twists too much.

I tie all my lures straight to 30 lb Power Pro. Works for me.
