Wanted to combine corn today, but an electrical problem ruined that idea. Talked my wife and daughter into a trip to the pond. Put a worm and bobber on wife's pole, jig with 2 1/2 inch Gulp minnow for daughter. First cast daughter caught a striper, only the second one caught since stocking 25 of them 3 years ago. From the size, it appears they are reproducing. Good sign. I had a 1/16th oz tinsel tail, and we caught maybe 15 large mouth dinks. Wife was getting mad not catching anything, so I took off the bobber and had her drop it on the bottom beside the dock. Game on, we caught about 20 hybrid bluegill that way, kept 6 largest 10 inch 1.25 monster. Biggest 'gill I've seen in person. It was getting dark, so we headed up the bank. I stepped on a stick I didn't see, it rolled and I went down. Sprained a couple of fingers and really stretched the knee I had replaced 5 weeks ago. Still don't know if it hurt or helped it, but doesn't appear to have injured anything so far. 🤞 It was great to see the spray I used did a wonderful job on the duckweed!

Farmer, you had a wonderful family day. You caught fish for dinner and all had a good time, except of course your tumble. A few years ago had a neighbor that was coming down the fold up ladder to his attic and missed a step and came down pretty hard on his replaced knee. He called the doctor and the doc said the new knee was stronger than the original. He didn’t even have to schedule an appointment. Call your doctor but I think you won’t have a problem. Now your fingers might not let you forget the fall. Best of luck with everything.

Iowa Farmer: You had better learn how to fall because it is going to happen! As long as as you don'tg hit something sharp, or pointed, you will be all right. My problem seems to be getting up. I have to have a sold and steady object to grab ahold of the be able to get back up. Sometimes it is a problem. Just Sayin...RJS

Jeezzz Farmer, fishing I can see,but watch where you're going for Gods sake! The goal of recuperation is to get better, not injure other body parts. LOL. Glad you're got out and that you're ok. BE CAREFUL out there! Oh yeah, nice fish and pictures, thanks for sharing.

Thanks, FT, I have physical therapy Tuesday and Dr. Thursday, so unless I have problems, I'll probably live 'till then.

Yeah, that was the first time I've been on the ground since the surgery, but was actually easier to get up than it was with the old knee.

Thanks, Fred. Actually, I think that fall Actually helped with my extension of the knee! It was getting dark is why I didn't see the stick. Only about 20 steps up the bank from the dock to the Gator, thought I was pretty safe. Just glad I didn't hurt the Wife’s pole I was carrying!

I don't know if you read my article and post on Major General Richard Cavazos taking his wife fishing on Texoma. This was before he was a general and his wife was from Gainesville, where I lived. I gave him about a dozen lures and a very quick lecture on how to fish each one. One was a Bomber slab, "think of a spoon full of lead then painted in brightr colors and a trebble hook added.

They got to the lake, in the boat and weregetting ready to troll for sand bass. She pointed to the tackle box and said, "I want that one." He said, no honey, that one will twist your line." She said, I don't care, tie it on. So he did. Before he could get his line in the water she was catching bass faster than he can run the boat and take them off her line.

He came back to our shop and acted mad, He said 'I didn't get to fish hardly at all, my wife kept me busy taking her fish off the line and getting her lure back in the water! But secretly he was happy. I think! Just Sayin..RJS

You have my interest at Stripers in the pond. Here i thought they were strictly a salt water fish. You definitely are raising some delicious dinners there. Glad to hear the knee let you out to play. Nice going I W family.
