I turn the leftovers into potato pancakes with bacon and eggs. Better than hash browns I think.

Have done the same thing. They are good in the morning too. Now you got me all hungry and it's not even lunch yet.
My placement exactly, right next to the mashed potatoes and gravy!

Heading out to muzzleloader deer camp with buddy next week that has a tag. Told him I was bringing 25# bag of yukon gold spuds and 10# bag of onions with 10# of bacon. Didn’t know what he will eat 🤪🤪🤪🤪 but I’ve got mine. Of course some fresh backstraps and I might share with him. 🤛🤛

I see you have your priorities in order.
I’ll be going out probably in a couple of weeks. Waiting on the weather to cool off some. I don’t like hunting in the heat!

We have had snow up there twice in the past three weeks. He sent me a pic from there Saturday when he was scouting and the leaves are turning some bright colors already. Usually don’t turn till October.

The food you're taking with you tastes about eight times better cooked over a campfire than when cooked in the kitchen! You're the man with a plan!
About the subject of this thread: To each his own, but some folks seem to think that 'their own' applies to EVERYONE. Certain politicians, in particular!
back in the 1960's you'd hear psychologists refer to some types of people as 'the rugged individualist'. I be one of those!

My favorite is still the old original .69 cal smoothbore Harpers Ferry 1865 converted to percussion for the civil war. Killed a deer and an elk with it and hung it in the safe. Shoots a 1 oz round ball with 150 gr of fff and needless to say it knocked them over!! Good old days there.
