If you wear the wrong name tag, most people won't know the difference for at least an hour.

The group I hung out with in 1965 didn't take drugs. Now, we all do.

All the girls who said they once had a crush on me should have mentioned this five decades ago.

"So, how have you been?" is a really stupid question to ask someone you haven't seen in 50 years.

People will remember stuff about you that even you don't remember. This is not anything to be concerned about. I hope.

I hugged people I would never have hugged in 1965.

I swear there were three guys gobbling down the shrimp at the buffet table who were not in our class.

A few people thought I was Dick Wolf, who produced the hit show 'Law & Order,' and that I had simply shortened my name from Wolfsie. I let them think they were right.

I told many of the women they looked great for 68. Larry Leventhal told them they looked great for 48. Guess who did better with the ladies in high school?

All the women at the reunion admitted having a crush on the math teacher, Mr. Walsh. And, so did two of the guys.

It was great seeing some old faces, although some of us had new faces over the old ones.

Despite a good cross-section of race and religion, we all had two things in common: Social Security and Medicare.

Some people danced, but there wasn't nearly as much making out on the dance floor as 50 years ago.

Half of the attendees thought the men aged better than the women. Guess which half thought that?

No one left the reunion intoxicated. But, Chuck and Wally arrived that way.

A few people brought their old yearbook and wanted me to sign it. All I could think of to write was: "Good luck in college."

I asked the class prom queen Carol Futterman to let me know when it was 9 P.M. Just once, I wanted her to give me the time of day.

There was some talk at the reunion about sex in high school. Back in high school it was all talk.

My prom date Evelyn gave me a big kiss hello. It wasn't the first time we'd kissed in 50 years, it was the only time...and that includes the prom.

A lot of people said things to each other like, "We sure had fun together," but it was hard for some of us to come up with specifics.

There was very little interest in forming a 75th reunion committee.

My friends in high school laughed at me 50 years ago when I said I would be a humor writer one day. I gave them all one of my books. Sadly, they're not laughing now.

Well, it would be a small party. My HS class had about 22 members and there are only about 6 remaining alive today. Just Sayin....RJS

On the other hand, my high school graduation class was very large. Several hundred, I would guess. My 20-year reunion had scores there for the festivities. Sadly, I did not attend the 50th year reunion.

Yes, I 've noticed that happening at mine too. Some of the people living in town do not come and I drove over 200 miles to attend. Does that show a sign of being an introvert? Just Sayin....RJS

Did not attend my 50th. Haven't seen any of my classmates since I left that little burg in 1967. Other than graduating from the same HS we have just about zero in common. They just can't understand why I'd want to live out here in California with "all them damn Mescans". Could be that's why.

I went to my 20th at the insistence of a friend. Here's some of the things I remember about it ...

The people I couldn't stand in high school, I still couldn't stand 20 years later.

The girls that wouldn't give me the time of day in high school, I had zero interest in 20 years later when they acted like we were best friends now.

I was as good an athlete as guys on the team but I didn't know it back then.

The really nice people hadn't changed. They were still really nice.

Age catches up with all of us but I still had more hair than 90% of the guys there.

And last but not least, It confirmed why I didn't want to go in the first place and never went to another one after.

To both Spirit and yourself, I would say I fully understand. I have heard that from many others. But, the truth was, I enjoyed both high school and our 20th Reunion. Part of why I went was that the word among my past classmates was that I had been killed in Viet Nam. I wanted to attend for other reasons, also, but I really was anxious to let everyone know that "The reports of my death had been greatly exaggerated." - Mark Twain.

I had an overall great time. BTW, I graduated in 1967.

Excellent post, B.F.
We had 83 in our graduating class. We were a pretty close group. Had reunions every 5 years since our first one in 1968. Haven't missed a single one. Even had an "interim" one at my place on the Namekagon River. Folks came from as far as California. Graduated 1963. Thanks for sharing those fun...and so true...quotes.
