I was visiting my brother who lived in Riverside near the university I stayed in a rv park near there that had fishing i used corn or worms i think it was 8 years ago.

Not familiar with that lake. Trout? Bass? Catfish? I think everyone who lives down that way is busy watching for fire right now. We're generally much friendlier on here with newcomers. Welcome to the fishing stage and I'm sure some of the socal folks will show up soon. LarryM is very regular on here, he's from down around San Diego and may be familiar with where you're going.
