I've got two large trees in my backyard. The flavor changes as they ripen. Sometimes they taste like pairs. I just made a couple of loaves of pecan pawpaw sweet bread with mine. Cut them in half and eat the custard like flesh with a spoon. Lots of large black seeds.

Now you guys have done it! More and more folks in the North will want to move South, just to have a PawPaw tree in their yards. It will cause the entire country to be overrun with them. Just Sayin...RJS

I had them in Michigan. In fact so many there, one of the towns is named 'paw paw'. Taste like a banana. The flowers are pollinated by flies. Why you ask, they smell like crap, fresh right out of the ol' bowel.

There's a small lake, in either Newbury or South Russell, Ohio; named: "Pawpaw Lake" (My father lived right at it, for a little while, back in the 1930's.) They gottem growing around there. [Geauga County]
