I have lived here in CA since 68, and in my opinion, it is not even close to the south-southeast, Texas and Louisiana.
I go back and fish there all of the time and have a great time, and usually catch a lot of fish.
I fish a couple of days a week here and do have a good time, but I do not think that it is as good back there

I hear you Spirit. I've lived in CA since 1957 and even though I've caught a couple of fish here, I mostly travel out of state to find really good action. It is an expensive and time consuming way to fish. Just cross CA off your bucket list and that will mean one less person standing elbow to elbow fishing for the two or three fish we have in the state!
