My Dads only 83 but his legs are swelled from excess fluid. He had a heart valve replaced not long ago. Had to help him in the truck and help him in the boat. He caught one small bluegill in 5 hours and fell asleep only once. At one point he looked at me smiled and said this what a wonderful day. (my best day ever).
You done good!
I'd give anything to take my Dad fishing one more time, but it's far too late. DO IT WHILE YOU CAN!
Good on you man!!
Id give my casting arm to fish once more w my dad
Glad u guys got out
Beautiful country up there, spend a lotta time a little west of you in Dushore
Thanks for sharing, and good for you. My dad would have been 100 this December. He only made it to 62. So it's been a while. Fond memories. But he and my grandpa go with me every time I go.

Glad you had the chance to get him out
.,., great, just keep him safe and make sure heβs wearing safety gear (life preserver).
You are a great person, my friend. You know. Take a photo of your Dad and one of him asleep.
You will treasure those photos and that memory forever. I have some of my Dad and my Grandpa. Both are long gone. But the memories and photos are here to stay.
Thanks for sharing. That's what fishing is all about.
Me too My dad fished until a few weeks before he died I am now 83 but still manage to get around tho it hurts sometime went on a fishing trip with my daughter and her family, husband and three boys just last week caught a few fish having them over tonight for a fish fry
I agree with Barnacles, would give anything to go fishing with my Dad again. I'm 74 and Dad has been gone for a long time, but I have countless wonderful memories -- and at this stage in my life...memories count the most. Enjoy your Dad Barnacles...and take him fishing again soon.

You all keep the memories - they canβt keep them from you. Best wishes always.
I too, would love to go fishing with my DAD again. I lost him when i was just 17, but he taught me every thing i needed to know. I am 83 and own 4 boats, was a fishing teacher for 30 years. My son invites me to go striper fishing in the delta, (We hardly ever get skunked. My son now makes hand poured soft Plastic swim baits. Capcity baits available on facebook and instgram tight lines every one
Good for you! I'm sure your Dad is very grateful that he raised a fine son.
