I'm a saltwater guy, but I'm going freshwater fishing this week, any tips?

there's a reason it's called "fishing" not "catching". use the lightest gear you have and sit back and smell the roses.

Here is the best advice you'll get... be sure to eat a plain Bagel in the am and take your Dramamine at least 45 minutes before you go. That river sickness will ruin a day of fishing! Lol

Unless you get dirt on your equipment you won't need to rinse your stuff as you do in salt water angling.

For Bass I like Rattle Traps Silver and blue have always worked good for me. Have caught up to 7lb. On them. A lot of time bass like the shallow weeded areas. If you have a depth finder, that can be helpful finding depths. Love bass fishing! Most of my experience was in the finger lakes.
