Another trick that I use, is to get a 50lb bag of feed corn from $8 to $10. They are much larger and tougher than can corn. Soak some for at least 12 hours (I do 24hrs), then boil them till they will safely go on the hook with out splitting. Much bigger presentation for carp and I also caught plenty catfish. Cheaper to chum with rhis corn because it's so cheap.
