Mullet on a hook?? You are a true fisherman! Better off tying a bunch of hooks together and pulling it through that chum line.

When I was in Crete last summer I saw a fisherman catching mullet and that's exactly what he did. He had about 6 or 8 sz 14 hooks wrapped into a backlash ball with a little bread on a couple hooks. He set the hook when he felt the bite and snagged them. These were 5 to 10 inch fish.

No I never caught a mullet on a hook but peas might be my next test. There's a site "Fishing spot"that you can show off your catch a guy was holding his catch a mullet. He didn't say what bait he used but remembered an old timer years ago told me he used corn. Sooo! It's time to head out now.

I was spec fishing with a white twister tail grub in a power plant outflow one night and caught the biggest mullet I've ever seen and he was hooked in the mouth so ya never know.

Only ones I ever saw that were close to that size came out of Cheech and Chong's 'Big Bambu' album !

Well the mullet schools didn't come by. I threw most of the can of corn and had my salmon egg hook floating past the chum area. I guess the chum got the catfish going so my second pole which I put squid on got going. 1 nice sail cat so the smoker is gonna get fired up.

Good luck to ya too Mitch. What part of the sac do you fish? Must be the thick of chinook run? I went there once few years ago south of Redding. I think near red bluff, hired a guide. Got two nice ones about 20 lbs each.
Would love to do it again.
