Well Saw I'm going fishing too and I'm gonna try to catch Mullet on a hook! They're vegetarian and don't bite what we normally call bait. I'm gonna chum them with canned corn and using a salmon egg hook and with my new braided line free float a colonel of that corn into the school. Hope we both do well! I'll definitely post pictures if I catch anything. I'll even try to get a shot of the fish coming in. Some of them are 2' long and are great smoked. If u can keep them litπŸ˜¨πŸ˜€

Don't know a thing about mullet, but I used to fish for opaleye in San Diego. They're vegetarian also, like to eat moss and algae - we would fish with frozen peas. You ever try that for mullet?

Good luck Steve. Hope you get into some.

Mullet on a hook?? You are a true fisherman! Better off tying a bunch of hooks together and pulling it through that chum line.

Well,,,,,,,,,,,, good luck, FF. If you notice that people are looking at you somewhat strangely, I think I would just reel in and walk away. But, you be the judge, do send post pictures and keep us posted on you success,,,,,,,,,,,,,, or failure. You maybe on to something, but I doubt it.

No I never caught a mullet on a hook but peas might be my next test. There's a site "Fishing spot"that you can show off your catch a guy was holding his catch a mullet. He didn't say what bait he used but remembered an old timer years ago told me he used corn. Sooo! It's time to head out now.

Don't have to worry about people seeing me. My girl friend is the only witness to this test and she doesn't talk people. She understands real good tho.
