Mine has always been the spinnerbait. No matter how hard I try I’ve never caught a single fish with one.

Too many little pike running around in my lakes, can't stand having to unhook every last hook point on treble hook baits.

Forgive my ignorance but I’ve never fished around pike. Does that leave you with solely single hook presentations? How does that affect your game plan when choosing lures if they’re around?

Personally I just never throw treble baits unless I don't feel I can somewhat effectively use anything else(usually I just say screw and go home). I really only throw treble baits if there are no weeds or if I get away from my home lakes to somewhere they aren't so overpopulated. I honestly only really own megabass jerkbaits for mille lacs, I'm not risking them around here.

I like catching pike, but they have a bad habit of getting treble hooks stuck in both the top and bottom of their mouths. It's a pain to get out, especially with all the teeth and slime (they're nicknamed snot rockets)

I knew they had teeth but had no idea about the slime! Is it like catfish goo that sticks too everything including the line you have to clean or can you just splash your hands in the water and be good? Teeth, slime, and trebles ... starting to make perfect sense why y’all avoid the combo. Good grief

Spinnerbait. Works good for pike but never caught a bass in my life on one. I’d much rather throw a chatterbait or an under spin with a paddle tail

It makes absolutely no sense to me what I do so different between a chatterbait and spinnerbait in presentation but I basically repel every fish for a mile as soon as I tie one on.

Exactly how I feel, my boss gave me 30+ different size/blades spinner baits and I’ve thrown a ton of them. With trailers, without, fast, slow, high, low, with pops and twitches I don’t even get a bite

Buzzbait, jig, spinnerbait, pretty much any skirted lure except chatterbaits... I've caught only a few fish on chatterbaits but for some reason feel pretty confident throwing them.

I could say the same for my confidence in swimbaits. Weird how that works sometimes.

I'm sorry, Superman, but as yet I have not discover any kryptonite lure(s). I have found some lures work reasonably well, sometimes. I suppose that's why i still enjoy fishing, to discover what works today. Just Sayin...RJS
