Started out a bit later this morning, have noticed the fish are sleeping in. Caught quite a few bluegill and for the life of me can't see how 1 1/2 inch ones can hook up. Kept 6 reasonable sized ones. By 10 had enough of the sun.

Nice bag Ronnie. Bluegill are always fun to catch and good to eat. Good job!

Blue Gill was the first fish I ever caught by myself. Can't remember where I put my car keys or sunglasses but
when I close my eyes I can still see that fish. That is why I think it is so important to take a kid fishing.

Nice catch bud. I see the pond is still producing some action. That cooler early morning water may be keeping them active.

RonneJW: Looks like you've made a haul. While those are illegal now, they would have been perfect bait we used for catfish in Red River in the 1940's and 50's. Just Sayin...RJS

If they were the size of bass or trout you wouldn't be able to go in the water. Definitely aggressive fish.

We can use them here, no law against it and I have caught bigger bass and catfish on them.

Bluegill tacos are awesome. You can even sautee those tiny fillets and put em an omelette with some spinach and feta, yummy!

Nice haul. A bluegill was the first and ONLY fish my youngest has caught. Well he caught a couple that day. Trying to get em into fishing more. Thx for sharing!

Sometimes I add some fresh cherry or sun sugar tomatoes in the omelette yum. Slice in half or quarter and sauté in a little butter first to soften. sometimes add fresh zucchini and crook neck squash that had been fried up in butter. Morning delight!

Hard to find tight now though.
