Caught this today at Upper Priest Lake ID - Not sure what it is. He’s back swimming again.

I lived in Coeur D’Alene and did some fishing in Priest Lake. Caught a few Bull trout that are a protected species . There are also some whitefish that a lot of people wonder what they are. Then the usuals -bows, cuts , mackinaw, bluegill, pumpkinseed, and of course the smallies! We usually fished for the macs and smallies.

Cant see real good from the pic but looks like you caught a bull trout-they look a lot like a dolly vardon. They are a rare and protected species in the lake so hope you released it.

That would be the ugliest trout I've ever seen!
Looks like a squawfish to me. Northern pike minnow. Invasive species here in the PNW.
There pay a bounty on then here in Oregon.

They are called Snake Heads here in Maryland. Kill if caught. They do walk on land to go from one water to another. Honest look them up. Good eating so I'm told.
The fins give it away for me. It's a squawfish..
Idaho rivers feed to Columbia.
