Yeah am lucky am retired so no more weekend stuff … don't even like to go Mondays since waters are beat up all weekend … prob doesn't matter in the bays though. I troll a chartreuse and white fly in the rivers does pretty good … I have a 13'6" Gregor inherited from Dad and use that in the Bay too … great in the rivers... am not familiar with Tomales water though so have to honk it down to the Bay. When I don't hit the stripers I get leopard sharks which are a ball on a fly rod too... When you hit the rivers for stripers let me know if you care to and can meet you at the launch... I'm not a fuddy duddy when it comes to fishing I share as much knowledge and hot spots as I know of to have others enjoy the sport as much as I do …. my ….ONLY …. ok here IT comes boyz…… my ONLY request is that you release a few too … have a major play against guys keeping the HUGE fish … one they never taste good and two the big fish spawn big babies that grow to be big fish … keep the smaller guys and let the monsters live and spawn … today's technology is that all you have to do is measure length and girth and a taxidermist can produce the same fish it its scales without having to kill them …. OK … sorry fellas enough from the rookie ….don't mean to preach merely to ahem …. errr … share info is all.... don't get too pissed at me about this ….it's just my gig … even got all my Mexican guides in Baja releasing all my fish now too … it's great …. ciao for now tight lines and Be Safe ...wally

Thanks FredFish …. got plenty of trout pics but my fav now since I'm an old fart in my 70's I love going to Mexico in the salt and use my fly rod till it sucks then lures …. then bait crossing off my species on my bucket list … but for sure can put up some trout pics for you …. no problem. Gotta tell you know because I get a LOT of crap from the fly boyz even though I can cast pretty damn well and use dries now and then … good ol Scotty co. developed a fly rod holder so I tie up streamers and troll and do VERY WELL if that is conditions have to right meaning cold water and fish on top.... can't get the sink line deeper than 10' or so at my slowest troll... thanks for the welcome …..

Great pictures Wally, thanks. I've been fishing only freshwater for the last 10yrs or so,I'll get back to the salt sooner or later. Pretty much the only fish I keep is an occasional trout or kokanee. 95% Bass fishing and practice catch, weigh,
picture, and release. I'm a mediocre bass fisherman at best, but I love it to death. We aren't blessed with the number,or size fish that some of these guys have further south. We do have some big fish around but they are few and far between. Tight Lines to you,and looking forward to more shots of your catch.

I hooked a southern ray this week . There’s no stopping them
So it was just a hook and rubber tail so I just cut it loose . That will dissolve in the salt or they rub them
Out . Tree huggers don’t hate . Lol

Hug a fish not a tree. You'll smell right at home. LOL

Dude you look a lot like someone I know. Have we met? Do you have a brother that lives over in Lincoln? Welcome to the stage Wally. Thanks for the photos.

Hey Wally, do you take your boat to the Petaluma and Napa rivers?
I only run my bass boat in fresh water, so I have to go there and to Tomales with someone else.
If so let me know.
Come fall the striper fishin really picks up and I could show you how we catch them there if you're interested.

Wally have you ever heard of mono rigging a fly rod? There's a couple of real good articles about it at www.troutbitten.com. Go there and do a search if you're interested. I was gonna try it this year, but covid and my back got in the way of most things fishing for me. Let me know what you think.
