Welcome, Nick; the name of your location brings to mind, a "Southern Rigged" steel-hulled dragger, outta Montauk I'd worked 1 short trip, back in the early 90's... the name of the boat, was: "Stamford Morse" y we targeted
Rock Shrimp, outta Port Canaveral, FL.
I've never fished CT, so, I'm no help to you, in that Dept., almost certainly someone on here, fishes near you.

I don’t know how good the fishing is below the reservoir but the Mianus River is right there for you. I used to fish upstream in New York and loved that river. Just a short hike through the woods from my house growing up. Trout in the river and bass in the reservoir.

Hi Nick - Welcome My wife was born in Stamford and I was born in Norwalk. We have lived in upstate NY (southern Adirondack Park) for almost 40 years. Sorry we can't be of help. Happy fishing.
