Was out yesterday, caught 8 LMB, with largest a whopping..............9"

Metered 3 large schools in the 20-40 foot range with some big fished mixed in. Could not get them to take anything. Water temp is 78 degrees, with clear water. Any ideas from you folks?

Thanks
OBG

Hey buddy. The fish we caught yesterday all came from around the 30 foot +/- level. They all were caught on a drop shot worm. We were using a small 4" brown/blue green finesse worm.
Every lake is different and the fish in those lakes react differently to baits. You just have to find what they want that day.
The trick isn't always findin fish. It's findin fish that want to bite.

Was doing mainly drop shot, wacky rigged with 5" Thin green/pumpkin. Will try smaller worms next time.

That sounds like a good one but if the fish weren't interested then you just have to try something different.
When you find fish and you have tried everything and nothing works. Take note of where and what type of place you found them in and look for other places like that and go there and see if you can find new fish that might bite.
We found all our fish off rocky points/banks and in the trees that were in about 30 feet of water. So we continued to look for places that were like that and I boated 7 and lost 2. Jim lost 2 and the wind started blowin too hard so we finally called it quits.

When you figure this one out, you need to let us all know. But I wouldn't give it away - that would be worth a LOT of money.

Sounds familiar Saw. One school was off of rocky dam. Other two were off of rocky shoreline. Tried about 5 different things with no luck. Going to try a crank bait next time if other stuff doesn't work. If nothing else, might tick the fish off, which they will deserve it!!

Deep divin crankbaits can really be the ticket sometimes. Good luck.
How deep were the fish?

Pretty much the same as your lake. 25-35 ft. How was water clarity at your lake? And water temp?

Water temp started out bout 72 and went to 74 + when we left. But it was foggy and overcast all morning.
As for clarity, we prolly have 6 to 8 feet maybe, + or -.

My brother-in-law fishes there all the time. He usually outfishes all his buddies who guide up there. Fishes off a float tube about 90% of the time. The guides don't like to fish near him when they have clients. Been closed during this whole pandemic thing.

If the water is clear, try a white wooly bugger fly. Trail it about two feet behind split shot.
