Hope y'all are well and catchin' fish.
What is this weird lookin' old wooden lure?
Looks kinda' like an early whopper plopper.

That, my friend, is a yellow globe bait. Originals can be in high demand by collectors. Excellent top water muskie bait. You have a nice one.

Good call! Do you happen to know the company that made this bait?
This is definitely an original that I bought a while back at a bargain price.

Yes, indeed. Pflueger made the globe from 1910 through 1966. At that time I believe Shakespeare bought them out. If yours is an original, you have a nice vintage lure, and in my humble opinion, you should hang onto it like grim death. LOL. Seriously, it's a collector for sure if it is indeed a Plueger. Good luck, and I hope that helps you.

Thanks for your answer. Yes definitely a Pflueger and an original. I'm not sure about the Shakespeare buy-out because Pflueger is still producing fishing gear today. I've been collecting, buying and selling vintage lures for many years and have learned a lot about them and the companies that made them. I mainly specialize in Creek Chub Bait Company products and have many of them including some rare ones. You may have missed some of my earlier post on Ol' Lures where you could have seen my collections (example photo attached).
Best wishes and stay safe and healthy. Mike
