Hey Plum trouts seem to be plentiful this catching them on all the piers on Topsail Island but mostly on Seaview fishing pier I bet they tighten up on them next year

I found that out as well Troy. Fishing the piers in our river is producing more then the land points. Odd thing is not all piers are good. It seems the piers that are first off a main flow get the best action. Still mostly 12" and 13" trout but i had a 18", 16" and a 19" the last two days.

Should be a good fall season if they aren't keeping the barely legal ones and letting them grow.

Sorry guys we didn't catch any halibut. We did catch some bait but that's all. Was a beautiful day and we had a nice time, but no fish. No pics either.

Sometimes the bait is very good eaten. I worked on a boat that always set a net to catch sardines for bait for the trip. I would always throw some in food cooler to boil to eat.

Spirit, there's a down side to owning property too close to the water in California. You just about need permission from the coastal commission and a signed note from God to just prune your trees. A few years ago, a fella got busted by the coastal commission. A tree fell across his driveway, so he got out his chain saw. They wanted him to leave it alone. Hard to believe, but that's how it goes in a state run by uber-liberals.

Now, don't get me wrong - I'm a conservative but I respect liberals. It takes all kinds to make the world go 'round, or at least to achieve balance. I said UBER-liberals in my post. They're just as bad as UBER-conservatives. Moderation in all things, huh?
