Just a word or two today as I start my 66th year on the planet.
First, I'm grateful for all my FS compatriots who have been there for me on this site. You've advised me, prayed for me, encouraged me, made me laugh and cry and inspired me.
And I've never met any of you. Yet. I made a decision today that I will attend the Meet & Greet in KS next May. Not sure if I will fly or drive. Hoping to buy a newer car before then if I need to drive.
I feel like I need to meet you guys and gals. It's too important not to put a username with a face.
Happy Birthday G! You are 2 1/2 years ahead of me. I'm grateful for your contributions to the forum.

Thanks Iowa. Spent a fair amount of time in Davenport while working Lee Enterprises. I remember having lunch on a casino boat docked on the Mississippi River and watching the bald eagles dive for fish.
Happy birthday. You are just a kid compared to some of us...Keep on snapping them whippers.

First of all, you just FINISHED 66 years on this planet, Knucklehead.
LOL. you are starting your 67th year. (but who’s countin’ anyway)
I think I can speak for everyone on here when I say: We are so glad you will be coming to Kansas next year!!! I can’t wait to shake your hand and maybe even hug your neck. (is that allowed?)
Again, happy birthday Friend !

Yes. You can hug my neck. If I turned 66 today, doesn't that mean I put 65 years in and am starting the 66th until I turn 67? I've never been great in math but that makes sense to me. I've got a year being 66 knucklehead, don't make me 67 yet. Jeez!
Think about it......
When you turned 1, did that mean you had 0 years in? No; you had COMPLETED one year. It’s kinda like when you say we are in the 21st century. We’ve completed 20 and are now in the 21st. You have completed 66 years and are now working on the 67th. Don’t worry, you’re still ONLY 66 !! 🤣
You’re as old as I am now!!!

Got it. I guess I'll survive. Even if I'm working on 67.

The way I understand it the Chinese consider a new born 1 year old (time in the oven I guess) and call she,he,it 2 year old a year later on the birth date. The Native Americans measure it by summers This is my 77th summer. lol

That sounds so depressing. Can't the embassy do anything for her?

I've asked the same question. She says she has been there 4 times so far in the last three months and they tell her that they are pretty much bound by the rules of the country. This damned virus has everything messed up.
