I use them off shore as a teaser. No hooks. I put a ballyhoo behind it on a flat line slowly letting it fall back and slowly retrieving it to imitate a hurt fish trying to keep up with the school. Works great.

Umbrella Rig. I purchased one for Shad fishing. It is supposed to represent a School of Baitfish. I didn’t catch any Shad on that rig that day but we only caught 1 Shad that day anyway.

Sounds Like a great idea and if the results are good I need to remember that. I am wondering if maybe could try to do that for Salmon. A plug cut herring is supposed to simulate a crippled herring ( baitfish). Salmon thrash as they swim aggressively through schools of baitfish then they circle back around behind the school of baitfish and feed on the crippled herring.
