California State fish. I used to spearfish in San Diego and they were super bold. Come right up to you and make this weird “bark” Sound underwater to try to scare you off. It was like they knew it was a $1000 fine if you messed with them. Super cool to watch and amazing neon orange color.

What are golden trout doing at Catalina? They're a very high altitude, cold clear freshwater fish. Please explain.

I think he was referring to the Garibaldi.
Well then he should speak up. Wutchu talkin bout MJ?
As the "enlightened" have said, Garibaldi. And yes there are both a fresh and salt H20 state fish in CA. Lived there 32 years. Riot and loot will get you a swinging door arrest if you're the hapless fool that gets caught; catch and kill a Garibaldi will cost you your house and jail time. Now there's a State with priorities!
Ok my bad everyone , never respond with a glass of wine in my hand
