Larry’s picture is the Garibaldi. Here’s one of the beautiful golden trout.

I'm the offical state fish.
What's my name?

That's a very pretty fish,
I just read that they can get to be about about twelve to fourteen inches.

Zoey :)

Thank you. Yes we have two state fish, one fresh water and one marine. Our beautiful golden trout are not drums or weakfish or char, they are true trouts.

Better to be a marine than a squid, but if it were a squid it wouldn’t be a true trout.

I never knew about the trout. Learned something new.
The Garibaldi's are easy to see swimming around the rocks in the bays here. They really stand out with their gold color.

Wife and I have only seen them once in our 16 foot boat. Something to see that close up.

Not a lot of places to fish for golden trout and are found only at higher elevations. A 12-14 inch golden would be a big fish.

Saltwater state fish. I never knew about the golden trout as being the other one.
You definitely don't want to have a Garibaldi in your possession if the fish and game check you.
