Hello there. Loved to fish since I was 3 years old. Getting close to "geezer" status, and I still love it. From pond fishing to offshore, doesn't much matter really, so long as I can watch the dawn break with a fishing rod in my hand and tell The Good Lord "Good Morning, sir. Thanks for this lovely day." The best kept secret is the sunrise bite.
Welcome to the stage Thunnus. We are all of us close to geezer if not already there. Bad Bobby has the qualifications, if not the mantle. And CDB and Zoey both are at the opposite end of the spectrum, life hasn't knocked either one of them around much. Yet. Thunnus is a damn nice salt water spinning reel made by Shimano. You got some of those? We do love photos on here, so when you catch some, please post.

Thunnus72: Welcome, I was a resident of New Orleans for about 4 years back late1970's, and found it to be truely a Sportsman's Paradise. Mostly, I fished in the bays on either side of the Big Muddy. Just Sayin...RJS
Thanks for the warm welcome, guys. Man, I knew a dude who named his boat Thunnus and I always like it. Its ancient Greek for tuna. Also liked Makaira. Knew a few boats with that name. Marlin in ancient Greek, basically. Did lots of offshore stuff when I was younger. Now a-days I really like wading for the biggest speckled trout I can stumble into. Be it a bay or the beach. Or just yankin bluegills with my 5 year old in the pond. If I come across pics I will post em. Problem with the offshore stuff is I was always working. I am in lots of photos, I guess, just in other peoples albums. Youth is wasted on the young.
Tell that to CD. Well, you just did.
Yes sir, RJS. Good fishin over on the delta. I am almost a Texan. The Sabine River is just down the street. I like going to Toledo Bend and Sabine Lake and Lake Calcasieu (Biglake). Love to bass fish, just suck at it. Figures.

Welcome Thunnus72; some of (all of) those places ring a bell/ me. I'm sure I've passed near with a towboat and 5 barges, in 1979, as well as drug shrimp trawls nearby, in ¿1982?... I wonder if you remember "Tropical storm Chris"? I ended up at Sabine Pass/ double lines everywhere we could puttem.
No sir, don't recall that one. Grew up in SW Louisiana, but left at age 19 n didn't really return til about 2012. Wasn't here for Rita or Ike (the two all my neighbors seem to bring up riund here), or that bad ice storm, whenever that was Andrew. Chased me outa the Keys and met me down here 48 or so hours later. Took that long to drive home as all of South Florida was evacuating.

Kansas and fishing don't seem to go together in my head. Why am I drawing a blank? Kansas n giant whitetails seems to keep coming together, though.

When I was very young my car was called half-fast and my boat was cat-sass
