I never really had time to visit any forums till this Covid19 pain in the a$%, I notice there are very few of us from So Cal, we need to get more of us on here and make a presence on the forums my go to places to fish are from orange county to Ventura county I do alot of surf fishing these days but come spring and summer you'll find me on a boat, I started building my own rods a couple of years ago it's amazing how nice a rod you can build for less than 1/2 what they cost in a tackle shop. Hate to brag but here's a pic of my personal best

I am also from CA. Central coast. Love surf fishing at Pismo Beach area and like you will be taking my boat out for the first time this year hopefully. I agree that we need to get more CA fisherman/women on here.

Welcome GMin

Nice Fish, always enjoy seeing someone's PB

Fished from Mexico up as far as Orange County for about 40 years. Caught a similar fish 3 miles off of N.B. many, many years ago. Maybe not as large as yours. Guessing about 175-200 lbs?

We are getting more So. Cal people here. Thanks for posting

Anaheim here. Restoring a 20’ Skipjack Flybridge. Fished the Tuna boats hard for 5 years and the prices are getting astronomical. I also have a 12 ‘ Jon and deep v boat and a Old Town 2 seat kayak. Retired now but do not drive. The CA DMV and VA attempting to control me. The price I pay as a Veteran.
