Might have to try it. Trout love crawfish. I sometimes throw a red rattletrap and they'll hit that. Don't fish for bass much anymore. The lake I usually go to this time of year for small mouths is closed so that'll have to wait til next year.

I have found that trout will hit many of the same baits that bass will...just scaled down a little.

If u could only take one lure to fish with in the lake or river of your dreams to fish for bass, what would u take and where would u take it? Seems like a good informational question for a want-to-be bass fisherwoman from Fl. panhandle to ask, lol.

As a native north Louisiana girl, I have fished in Toledo Bend. Just a couple of times, but lots of fun. Thank you for your insight.

Jodie welcome to FS . When you reply to someone,if you hit "quote reply" below their post , it will show the post you are responding to. It makes it much easier to follow. My choice would be any large topwater, and to one of Ron Speeds lakes in Mexico.

there are sooooo many colors, weights and choices and prices of every bait. I may never get any picked out to use before I lose my want to. I'm not good at making choices, thus bass fishing may not be for me after all. any suggestions on how to decide? I don't have unlimited funds to just go and buy a lot of different colors of the same kind of lure or worm. I've always heard it wasn't a cheap fish to go after.
