Wow! Fried bologna and rice pudding. Have had neither in so long, in fact i've forgotten both.

When I was in about the second grade, in this country school house, a couple of hound dogs got in where we had stored our lunches in paper sacks and helped themselves. We didn't find out until about lunch time.

So the owner of the dogs was told, took us all to the country store and fed us bologna sandwiches and cokes. It was the best, and probably first, store bought sandwich I'd ever had. Made the dog robbery a great event, in the end! Just Sayin...RJS

16 years ago when I was traveling up and down route 95 with my BFF German Shepard while building this house on 3 day weekends, we would stop at local places to eat. One place in particular in Virginia Max and I both had fried Bologna sandwiches while on the road. That dog knew good eats.

Sacrilege! Everyone knows you put French's yellow mustard on a fried baloney sammich. Ketchup is for burgers!

That must mean you don't put gravy on your fries either. Please don't tell me you squeeze lime juice on them with the ketchup. LOL

We were not an affluent family growing up in Arkansas. Very small town. My mom would make bologna soup. Bologna has lots of fat, and we all know that’s where the flavor comes from. She used lots of veggies. Canned tomatoes she had put up. Just great flavor. She was amazing!! Sure would love to feel those arms around my neck again.

Steve, you smelled it all the way over there? I purchase a hunk of it at the meat market once a month and slice off about 1/4" thick and today fried it up. Ketchup is my go to topping on rye, Yum Yum

Back in the day my grand mother would fix the meals and one night a week it was fried bologna with a scoop of mashed potatoes in the middle. When that bologna curled it was time to eat. Of course followed with rice pudding with raisins for desert.

Is your mouth watering now?

Mine is. 😋😛

I have to agree with you on that! I used to eat bologna sandwiches like they was going out of style lol. But I ate one while suffering a concussion (brought on by fighting with my brother) and i got sick on it, would you believe I to this day can’t stand the smell of bologna and I used to really enjoy it too.

I still buy the cheapest Bologna at the store. Better flavor in my book. Same with hot dogs. Guess it's what we grew up on.

Gravy and cheese curds too. Poutine! Righteous stuff. Ketchup? I'm just not a big fan of ketchup. If I order a burger and it comes with ketchup on it I'll eat it. But that's not something I'm going out of my way for. And no, I generally keep the limes away from my burgers, dogs and fries. Mighty good on tacos, especially fish tacos.

Run this stuff through the grinder mix it together and it is awesome. The bologna I buy the sticks and cut it up....... bologna ,cheese melt , dill or sweet pickle. Run all that through the grinder. Add mayo. It’s very tasty. Use it as a sandwich spread.

Hey Mike, Ever try that recipe with spam? I do love bologna fried with mayo on toast! Had quite a few in the Air Force as a snack. RC cola was the best compliment!
