I went out in the boat when I got to my spot I realized that I forgot my bait, but in the boat was a fishing magazine they was a pitcher of a worm in it so I cut it out and put it on my hook and tossed it out. It wasn’t out for long and whammy the fight was on and after a long battle I reeled in a pitcher of a bass.

Now that’s a good one. Great imagination😂

A friend of mine was fishing a lake where he saw some duck hunters close by. One of the hunters stood up moved around a bit and lost his balance, dropping his shotgun overboard. The two of them poked around in the water for about an hour, then left. After about thirty minutes and no one returned for the gun, my friend decided to go to the spot where he watched the event occur. It took only 5 minutes to fish out a gold inlaid Remington 1100 extremely limited edition (Ducks Unlimited award) automatic shotgun. Now that would have made my year!!!

I was fishing a small Lakes near Clearwater FL. With a friend one morning. Felt a bite. Pulled in a 2' water Moccasin. He wasn't happy either. Wasn't getting near that mouth. So we cut the line and sent him back home

I’ll just bet you gave him a little better tip.

When I was leaving as district manager of my company for Louisiana, my men arranged a fishing trip in the Gulf off the mouth of the Mississippi River. We were having a terrific time, catching a lot of red snappers. The charter captain said to me, "Why don't you take one of the rods, put a small snapper on it, and free line it over the stern of the boat?" I did, and almost immediately caught a very large King Mackerel, perhaps 20 pounds. Another of our party did the same thing and caught another large King.

A while later, one of the men, left his rod and reel to get a beer. While his line was left unattended, some type large fish hit his bait and pulled the entire rod, reel, and everything overboard! The captain said, "Well, that's just $100!" But what is a $100 when you are having such a good time?

Not 15 minutes later, one of the guys hung something, finally got it aboard and along with the fish, was another fishing line. When we pulled it up, there on the end was the missing rod and reel. Talk about luck.

Later, when we got ashore, we fillet the fish, had a fish fry back in New Orleans, and shot the bull all hours. No one wanted it to end! Just Sayin...RJS

Rocks, an old tennis shoe, pop top, and a Cotton Mouth Snake. The biggest fight was a 2ft piece of 5/8x 6" decking board. Hooked it on one corner and it would run in one direction when another up and down, really thought I had a beast on till my partner/net man started laughing.

Old shag carpet isn't worth mentioning especially with no story behind it. Must have been washed in after a hurricane. But mainly just wanted to keep up with this interesting post.

Funny Mike. My granddad had that same experience. He used to talk about the time he lost his dentures over the side of the boat, then baited up with some bacon and pulled em back in.

That’s funny Spirit. Good thing he wasn’t a vegetarian.
