Last weekend my wife and I took out the kayaks to a lake just to get out. Of course I wasn't going to waste an opportunity to fish so I grabbed a couple of rods and away we went. After a day of not catching anything we decided to call it and head for home. I decided to cast " one more time" and ended up pulling out am entire rod and reel combo. It must have been dropped a short time ago because the reel looks brand new ( Lew's spinner) and the rod is in great shape. Come to find out the reel is valued at $60 but the rod is a St Croix avid series 6'6 fast action retailing for $150! That got me thinking, what is the craziest thing you have caught while fishing that wasn't a fish?

I caught a brand new bilge pump once. Still in the package. It was under water for a long time and no good but never opened.

Last year fishing for cats on the Mississippi river I pulled up a g.loomis asquith 1090 fly rod and reel combo. Looked up the rod, it's valued at $1700. Sold the combo for $1200 after I seen that.

My son, 15 y/o, and I were fishing boat to boat along a wall at a dam on the Miss. River, we were jigging, and my son snagged a rod and reel, pulled it in and the guy in the boat next to us said that he had lost it yesterday and that the rod was his. My son handed it to him, I should have asked him what kind of rod and reel it was before my son handed it to him, but we were thinking fishing.

Being the better man, right or wrong, is a good thing.

My biggest thing was a 16 incher that weight over 50 pounds. It took 2 of us to get it in the boat because it was full of mud. I’m just glad it didn’t have a tire on it.😂

I went out in the boat when I got to my spot I realized that I forgot my bait, but in the boat was a fishing magazine they was a pitcher of a worm in it so I cut it out and put it on my hook and tossed it out. It wasn’t out for long and whammy the fight was on and after a long battle I reeled in a pitcher of a bass.
