Welcome trouth8me!
Do shadloveu?
I fish the Big D’s American Shad run every spring. I’m in NW Jersey, so we’re “neighbors”!

I thought it said truth ate me. It'll do that sometimes. Welcome to the forum Charlie. Trout seem to love me, cause I can't catch em, at least not so far this year.
Welcome. I'm fairly new myself. We have slightly different types of fish but the same enthusiasm in catching them.

I had “good old American cabin fever” on Friday & took a scouting trip to the Big “D” to monitor the conditions. Won’t be long now, Water temperatures in mid 40’s & a few warm days will push us to the magic 50* mark. When the forsythia is in bloom, it’s Prime Time! You can easily spot Mickey - usually wear my “forsythia camo” shirt (see attached).
Do you guys wade or boat fish for Shad? I do both, but prefer to wade. Less work, more mobility & versatility to hit the trout streams as well.
Awesome pic S M. What is the advantage to what looks like a 10' long rod?
