After months and months of research and planning and saving. I am very proud to say that I finally got my angler kayak! I ended up with a Field and stream shadow caster. I. Extremely excited to get it out on the water and start fishing with it. I have also joined a kayak fishing league here in Ohio so things are going to get extremely fun this coming year!

Congradulation. Cant wait to here some fishing storys and pics now.
Enjoy the new ‘yak! Ditto Gordon’s request to post pics!
Hope you get out in it a few times before the “league” tournaments so you can get the feel for how it handles especially in the wind. I found that using a drift sock helps slow you down when it’s blowing. You’ll also need to figure out what gear to bring & where to locate it within easy reach near your seat.
Eventually you’ll be brave enuff to start drilling holes in the plastic for an anchor trolley, gear tracks etc.
Good luck, be safe & have fun!

Nice! Winter Camo?
How do you plan to transport it? Is that a set of wheels in the rear?
No Mickey. Actually it's an old aluminum boat trailer my father in law had just sitting behind his barn. I wanted to see if my kayak would fit on it and it fits perfectly! I have to do some restoration on the trailer but it works absolutely perfect for it and the best part is I didn't have to pay for the trailer. All I have to do is clean and paint it, add new lights and new tires. So basically it's only going to cost me mabey 150$ to fix.

Congrats there Aaron, I remember you well in your search. Looks like you did well there on the purchase. If you haven't done it yet take it out with out any gear and get the feel of it and as mentioned above think about where you want to place everything so that it is within reach.
Obviously the hatch is not, but on mine that is where I keep my rain gear. Just kneel down get gear and sit back.

Nice one, my bass kayak is 10 ft, it’s almost the same as yours.
Make some memories on the water, I did & keep doing...
My buddy MOOSE checking out my new 'yak (2016)
On Cabelas canoe carrier wheels on way to sand-pit (2017).
Crappie in 'yak (2018).
Notice I finally drilled some holes in it between '17 & '18.
Good Luck!
Mickey
S M looks like you need a tail gate extender. They keep the yak from bouncing.

That is a USA made, Boondox orange T-Bone bed extender on short bed Chevy. Curve gives extra clearance backing down uneven ramps. Works like a charm with a couple tie-down straps. Yak rolls up nicely onto foam (pool noodle type) rollers. I mostly do shorter trips, but if going a distance I’ll pull over to double check the load on the straps.
Gives Mickey an excuse to take a leak too!
