What burns my a$$ is when your doing everything right driving down the road and some A-H$&@ goes by and flips the bird because you may have caused him to have to slow down for a second. I’d like to spit some beach- nut in that dude’s eye.

1996 and Newer Vehicles Sold in Canada and US are OBDll. They all must pass computer scan. Some states allowed you to pass the TSI ( Two Speed Idle ) which is analyzer like I currently repair. It takes real true sample of exhaust and shows what the vehicle really lets out into the atmosphere. TSI means it reads the emissions at idle ( cannot be above 1299 RPM ) and at 2500RPM both are for 30 seconds. If it fails first idle it may have chance to pass at idle after the run up ( 2500 ) it must pass idle emission standards ( maximum permissible) for type vehicle class . Heavy Duty ... passenger vehicle etc. I have been employed by Air Quality for 25 years. I have tested vehicles in first 3 years but since then have repaired and calibrated and installed old and new equipment. Dynamometers high end lab grade analyzers to read exhaust while vehicles are on dynos as well as several types of the previously explained Two Speed Idle. The OBD2 thing on modern vehicles was pushed by the computer business and industry’s. It’s relatively accurate but impossible to really state the pollution from the exhaust. Many in my field as well as mechanics and engineers did not agree that the computers will always be more accurate than a true sample of the exhaust. A private repair shop can rip you off blind by telling you we need to repair the vehicle. Larry is explaining what is called drive cycles. They were engineered into the computers but it still doesn’t really show how much pollution is being emitted from vehicle. Big business pushed for the changes and laws were changed to conform to their wants.

DD that's up there with the A H that flashes his lights for you to get out of their way. Love pulling up on the emergency break handle since the break lights don't come on.

That's what the lady told me.
First time I drove it the computer didn't reset or what ever it does. She told me do start all over in the morning with a cold start so that the computer would recognize the cold start.
She knows a lot more than me.
