I usually take only 3 deer. I cut it up in larger pieces then vacuum seal them. When I thaw out a piece I can grind it up or cut it into stew meat. I put up enough bluecat in june to pretty much keep us in fish the rest of the year. I put up a good bit of crappie & bluegill. My daughter, her husband (who doesn't fish or hunt) & the 3 granddaughters expect a fish fry 2 or 3 times a month. They all like deer chili & stew almost as much as i do.

You’re a lucky man Coon. Mine are all city sissy’s. I’m always told I shoulda been born 100 years ago. I think so too. I’ve tent camped, fished and hunted since I was old enough to, and still will when my back is healed.

This redneck loves deer meat meatloaf but my favorite way to eat it is as a sandwich. To me it's the best sandwich meat ever.

I'll make a sandwich out of the meatloaf if it's served for sunday dinner. None of that waiting for leftover for me.
I know most pilgrams have meatloaf, mashed potatoes with gravy & a green vegetable. I don't care for mashed potatoes & gravy, never did. I'll eat a slopbucket full of fried potatoes smothered in gravy. Mashed potatoes are for people that don't have any teeth. One man's meat is another man's poison.

bc & G man, thanks for the deer meat meatloaf idea can't wait to give it a go.

On regular meat loaf I like gravy or ketchup, what kind of gravy do you recommend on the deer meat?

I never knew there was such a thing as instant potatoes til I got married. No, we were not related. From scratch or box mashed potatoes are a dish for someone else. Anyway, I'm going fishing this morning. It'll be the 1st time I've taken my boat out alone since my knee replacement so it's kind of a test. I've got to make sure everything works before we invade Texas this saturday. If an out of stater takes a boat in for any kind of repair around lake fork, texas he'd better have a fresh tube of vasolene. Good luck & tight lines.

Yes anyone from out-of-state anything in Texas is in for a thorough inspection. I am sure you will pass. One thing about Texas law is they are super strict. They will be real asses. But in the end they will be very nice and helpful to your needs of fulfilling your efforts to repair or fix the problem. Have fun. We have a whole lot of fish for you just waiting!

" They will be real asses. But in the end they will be very nice "

That just does not sound right. Especially since they will be helpful and fill your needs.

Venison is very good. Elk is awesome too. I have made lasagna with it. Talk about GOOD. Meatloaf I guess would be good if it’s got the game flavor. I like a little game flavor. Had only one time when something had a bit too much. It’s the best crab bait you ever had too.

I love venison and Elk properly cared for from minute one after the hunt. Sliced an inch or 2 thick. Rolled in flour with some salt and pepper. Just to medium rare... couple eggs. Best food ever.

I also use the ground venison for tacos and burritos

It damned sure would me too Coon. I pulled into a handicap parking space at a convenience store in Houston once, and there was a HOUSTON cop car, with two cops in it parked next to where I parked. The passenger cop told me I better be limping or something like that. I just ignored him and got out. He got out and got in my face and asked me if I heard him. All I said was he needed to get his head out of his ass and check my license plates. The other cop got out and walked around the front of his car looking at my plates. He started laughing and told hard nose to get back in the car. Hard nose said what for. The other cop told him to check my plates. Hardnose did and without saying a word to me, got back in and they drove off. Pissed me off because I’m always telling them thanks for their service whenever I see them. I still do, but that guy was being a butthead. You take care too my brother.

I agree 1000% percent. I have mega respect for Law Enforcement. I have the least respect for bullying by any source. Many are that way that want to become a Law Enforcement Agent. They can then exercise their corrupt attitudes. Some really good guys that become an Officer learn from the jerks. Many ( hopefully) learn from the Veteran Officers that teach them to chill out and be respectful to the public. The public is their employers via City, County, State, Federal or whatever the source of need for enforcement.

There are many that just want to serve the Public. Help someone that needs it. Enforce needed laws. I think some get the jerks to learn to treat the public better. When the Nation as a whole ( because of majority) gets told by the Attorney General ( fed ) to have more respect for officers and get back to respecting them ....there is a reason. Hopefully ALL not just the ones that already give people benefit of doubt will keep that in mind. The bullying and Arrogance needs to stay in their boat... in there RV or whatever they go do to unwind and then treat people with the same respect they want and deserve.

I have worked closely with Law Enforcement a lot. I have relatives and friends in it. I have definitely seen both extremes in how they treat people and how they interact with everyone. I have told a cop everything on my mind after he lied several times to get information from me. I will never change my opinion of that particular person.

Run into my share of both sides myself. Latest was on Christmas night on my way home. Looked him in the eye and said I honestly thought the speed limit was 70 when I passed him, because back aways it was 70. When I got pulled over 50' in front of me was the 55 sign.

Gave me a warning and he got a letter of appreciation sent to his CO. CO even wrote me back thanking me. So yes there are a few good ones out there.

The barrier for the 55 MPH Zone probably began where you were pulled over. City of Portland has a goofy little parking patrol in little cushmans with heaters etc. The electronic parking system in parts of city have made it still possible to get a ticket but most of staff go harass the people that park in areas where there is NO METERS or the newer thing is you just type your plate in and give it money.

I have gotten many parking tickets where there is NO sign. No painted crosswalks etc. there is sidewalks. So you park against curb not blocking sidewalk ( dictates width of imaginary crosswalk). Many areas have signs etc. I sent pictures of where my truck is parked etc. they only send 1/2 of the money back. It’s a scam. If you take the day off work and go pay to park or ride bus and train to go try and appear to have a trial over a parking ticket it’s still up to them. In my opinion it’s another form of abusing authority and most of public just complies and are intimidated by the way the notice is written ( citation). Makes it more convenient to just pay them even if it’s bs. They troll the neighborhoods to reduce people from even parking there. Here is the goofy part. Sunday’s and Holidays... after 6PM the rules don’t apply. That’s what is wrong. So it’s illegal to park in front of a fire hydrant 24/7 not just everyday but Sunday’s and holidays. It’s a way to take your money... scare you into not contesting it... keeping half your money if you win by sending a letter and pictures. In my opinion it’s about like the guy that jumps out of a car and intimidates you until you say something they can ticket or arrest you for. Like the guy at store that harasses you before looking at your plates. For Handicap status.
