Egghead I see in your reply that I-80 was closed in Rock Springs it dawned on me that I’ve spent a couple of nights in my 5th wheel in your Wal-Mart parking lot on the way to Kansas City.

This last couple years the wind and snow has kept it closed a bunch. 70-80 mph wind all the time hasn't helped keep the roads open lol.every year it feels like winter is a little tougher and a little longer.lol

I'm back from the lake and we had a pretty good day. We caught bout 27 or 28 but should have caught more. Caught about a dozen on a ned rig ,several on a drop shot rig and the rest on small swimbaits. I only caught 11 and my partner caught all the rest. I think he caught 16 or 17. Only kept 1 for a dinner later this week. Just 2 pics. The 1 I kept and 1 big smallie.

Lake Sonoma. I call that my home lake. I'm only bout 30 mins. from it. Yesterday my partner and I caught 27 or 28 LM and SM bass. We were usein a ned rig, drop shot or small swimbait. Will be back out there in the morning with another fella. Hope we have at least as much luck as yesterday. Hey HPR, we need to get together and wet a line sometime. I use to fish Clearlake a lot.

I have a Rapala battery operated filet knife I would highly recommend. If you decide to go battery operated, go with a knife with an ION battery. I am on my 2nd such knife, first one lasted 11 years. The ion battery will hold a charge for months.

Dehy, any chance you could post a pic of that knife? That way I would know what to look for.

I guess that’s why you’ve got all those snow fences along the interstate. That’s wide open country you’ve got out there for sure.

Have you ever fished Indian Valley? I fished over there years ago, and I've heard that they drained the lake a while back or were planning to. Any truth to that? I've asked a couple of folks from over in your direction that same question and I've never gotten a reply. Is it a big secret? I have never fished Clear Lake but know a lot of people who do or have. Drive by it all the time on my way to the coast. Ever fish the Blue Lakes? Let us hear from you.
